# Import Insurance Leads into a Mav Playbook via CSV

> Upload a bulk list of auto or home insurance leads into a Mav playbook, with column mapping, daily pacing limits, and TCPA consent confirmation.

The CSV import tool lets you upload a prepared list of auto or home insurance leads directly into a Mav playbook. This page covers everything you need to complete a successful import—from preparing your file and confirming TCPA consent, to mapping columns, previewing results, and tracking the import's progress.

<Warning>
  Every lead in your CSV must have given written or electronic consent to be contacted via automated SMS messages and voice calls before you upload the file. The TCPA Consent confirmation step is required and cannot be skipped.
</Warning>

## Daily limits and scheduling

Imports are capped at **500 leads per account, per day**. If your file contains more than 500 leads, Mav processes the first 500 and automatically defers the remainder. Deferred leads are released the following business morning without any action required on your part.

<Note>
  If you regularly import large files, plan your uploads so that deferred leads land in playbooks on the days you intend. Consider splitting very large files across multiple days for more control over pacing.
</Note>

## Tracking the status of an import

Navigate to **Settings → Imports** to see the status and progress of any import.

| Status        | Meaning                                                                                                            |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **New** | The import has been created but processing has not started yet. |
| **Importing** | Mav is actively processing rows from your file. |
| **Deferred** | The file exceeded the daily limit; remaining leads are queued for the next business morning. |
| **Finished** | All rows have been processed successfully. |
| **Failed** | The import encountered an error. A **Retry** button appears—clicking it resumes the import from where it left off. |

The progress bar shows how many rows have been processed. Import stats break down results into:

* **Successful imports** — leads added to the playbook
* **Duplicates** — leads that already exist in your account
* **Missing phone** — rows skipped because no phone number was found
* **Row errors** — individual rows that failed for other reasons

## How imported leads appear in Mav

Every lead brought in through a CSV import is tagged with the source label **Manual Import – YYYY-MM-DD**, where the date reflects the day the import was created. This tag appears in lead records and reporting so you can filter and attribute CSV imports separately from your real-time marketing sources.
