# Filtering Contacts in Mav.next: Find the Right Leads

> Use Mav.next contact filters to slice your list by conversation status, call outcome, conversion, direction, call duration, and date range.

The Contacts page has a filter bar of chips that let you zero in on exactly the contacts you care about — to review, follow up, or [export](/mav-next/exporting-contacts).

## Filter categories

| Filter           | Narrows to contacts by…                                                                  |
| ---------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Conversation** | Engagement status — interested, SMS-engaged, phone-engaged, opted out, or undeliverable. |
| **Call outcome** | How a call ended — connected, voicemail, or dropped. |
| **Conversion** | Whether the contact reached a conversion (e.g. quoted or sold). |
| **Direction** | Who initiated — inbound (the contact reached out) or outbound (Mav reached out). |
| **Duration** | Call length — under, over, or between a set number of minutes. |
| **Date**         | When activity happened — a from/to date range.                                           |

## How filters combine

* Within categories like **Conversation**, **Call outcome**, and **Conversion**, you can include or exclude multiple chips at once.
* **Direction**, **Duration**, and **Date** each apply one selection at a time.
* Combine across categories to build a precise segment — for example, *inbound* contacts who *connected* on a call but have *no conversion* yet.

<Tip>
  Build the segment you want with filters, then head to [Exporting contacts](/mav-next/exporting-contacts) to send that exact list to CSV.
</Tip>
